Director of Nursing for Expanding Pediatric Home Health Care Agency

THE CHALLENGE

A nationwide pediatric home health agency had been providing quality pediatric home health care to the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex since 2003. The agency had decided to expand and diversify its offering by extending its services to private-duty nursing in addition to the initial focus on speech therapy.

As part of the growth efforts, the agency was expanding into Oregon, a new market. To facilitate its growth in the region, the agency sought a Director of Nursing to establish and implement policies and procedures for the state branch, to build a strong case mix and create a solid footprint in the region.

Before engaging ALIGN, the agency struggled to find suitable candidates with the clinical skillsets (pediatric clinical health experience) to expand into Oregon. ALIGN provided valuable market insight and a track record of success in helping a different client with a similar expansion, making us the ideal partner for this project.

With many original candidates identified, ALIGN prequalified a dozen contenders for the client to interview.

During the selection process, one candidate stood out as the clear leader: her qualifications and experience were especially impressive. She had a long tenure with her previous employer, which showed loyalty, indicating she is dedicated to her work and takes it seriously. She also had a lot of experience launching new projects, which was key for the position. She knew how to write policies and procedures and create a case mix, an important aspect of getting the project off the ground.

Moreover, her previous similar work was a plus! It showed that she had a track record of success in this kind of role, giving the client more confidence in her abilities. Overall, this candidate’s expertise and experience made her the clear choice for the position.

The candidate was offered an attractive package that included an increase in salary, a company car, and an impressive bonus structure based on meeting KPIs. The fact that the position allowed her to stay grounded in Oregon was also a big factor, as it offered a better work-life balance.

The candidate was pleased with the offer and accepted the position. The company has since been focused on acquisitions and has expanded its operations, partly thanks to the candidate’s appointment and the ALIGN team’s work.

ALIGN has placed multiple administrators and directors across four states, demonstrating the company’s growth and success.

The result was a successful hire within a month, exceeding the company’s expectations. ALIGN’s recruitment consultant’s ability to listen to the client’s needs, target specific qualifications, and create a targeted recruitment strategy was key to finding the right candidate quickly.

The company was able to fill the critical HR position, and the new employee is happy, productive, and contributing to the company’s success. They have nothing but positive feedback about her work, and she has been able to contribute to the company’s goals and objectives from day one.

The client was impressed with the value-driven approach and the quality of the candidate presented by ALIGN. This placement has led to establishing a long-term relationship and ALIGN is now the trusted consultant for our client’s future hiring needs.
