Environmental, Health and Safety Manager for Aerospace Manufacturing Company


An Aerospace manufacturing company focused on casting metals needed to hire an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager with the experience to establish and enforce environmental, health and safety protocols on the manufacturing floor.

The client is part of a 20-location aerospace manufacturing company who recognizes ALIGN’s ability to recruit the best candidates for engineering positions, having been recommended by other hiring managers at different locations.

They were seeking a candidate to work with plant management and staff towards continuous safety improvement and support of the company’s EHS Policy through implementing safety procedures consistent with facility requirements and applicable EHS regulations, codes, and standards.

The HR Manager at this facility was referred to ALIGN by the company’s VP of Information Technology. The recruiting company they had previously engaged to find the right person for the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager position had been unsuccessful for months, and the role remained vacant.

At the same time, ALIGN’s recruitment specialist was sourcing a candidate for the exact position for a different aerospace client nearby and had gathered a few candidates she was ready to submit. As luck would have it, one of those candidates was a perfect fit for this position.

Working with the Human Resources Manager and the Plant Manager, it was clear they wanted to fill the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager position quickly.

ALIGN’s first step was contacting the candidates we had previously identified as qualified for a similar position with another of our aerospace manufacturing clients.

Two of the three original candidates chosen and pre-qualified by ALIGN had the ideal combination of experience and working knowledge to fulfil the position.

The second candidate stood out as he presented himself well, offering examples of how he had overcome pushback from previous employees not wanting to comply with safety protocols and standards.

We set up the interview, and the client and candidate hit it off immediately. The client made an offer, which was instantly accepted by the candidate. He started working for them within a week.

Since joining our client’s organization, the new Environmental, Health and Safety Manager has implemented and enforced environmental, health and safety regulations and reduced injuries and Workers’ Comp claims.
