Staff Accountant for Manufacturing and Operations Company

THE CHALLENGE

A large manufacturing and operations company that has been in business for over 25 years was utilizing its internal Human Resources department as recruiters for many of its open Accounting REQs. It became evident they needed help finding candidates more expeditiously, matching skills and decreasing turnover due to communication challenges.

Due to company growth, they sought to hire a Staff Accountant responsible for Account Reconciliations, Month-end Close and Accounts Payable. The candidate would be responsible for journal entries and account reconciliations related to the month-end closing, ensuring they are made in accordance with GAAP. This position would also be responsible for managing cash requirements and Accounts Payable.

ALIGN’s Managing Director had worked with this organization for more than 15 years and met with their team to explain our professional experience, tools, and industry-specific background. By sharing ALIGN’s unique process and procedures, he assured them that working with our team would produce better results in a shorter amount of time. Relieving their HR team from these tasks would allow them to concentrate on more pressing HR responsibilities.

ALIGN’s team of dedicated, full-time recruiters with backgrounds in accounting got to work to help them find the perfect candidate for the position. Working with the Human Resources Manager and Director of Accounting, we executed precise searching tactics and extensive interviews, ensuring we followed our search assignment details.

The strategy included working with Line Managers to meet with the candidates. Once they liked and approved of a candidate, the process moved forward more effortlessly. Moving the process forward faster was one of the primary reasons they utilized ALIGN’s services.

After identifying 18 candidates, we presented them first to the Line Managers. We quickly found that by switching the order of things, we successfully moved 10 candidates through the initial interview process.

The client was extremely impressed, and although they originally came to ALIGN to fill one position, it quickly grew to fill five positions.

ALIGN was able to place four of the original candidate positions, and as of today, we are their in-house recruiting choice for Temporary and essential Permanent needs. We have now successfully filled 45 positions for this client.
